William H Wood aged 86 died in Pendleton hospital after surgery for appendicitis. Funeral held at Methodist church with Rev W B Payne. burial at Wonton cemetery. He served with Pythian Lodge R of P and leaves several siblings and a large circle of friends. A. R. Draper, Portland educator, also died, noted as a long-time figure in Pendleton and Portland schools.
