All F Welroth formerly of Prineville and long a county poor farm inmate has been adjudged insane and will be sent to the asylum. He is 22 years old and his insanity is said to be due to venereal disease.

Portland July 20 There were vehem ent digrussions and a clash of forces at today's session of the twenty sixth annual meeting of the grand lodge of the Ancient Order of United Workmen of Oregon. The discussion covered the proposed amendment to the constitution to raise assessments and a split over officer elections. The grand master noted opposition to shifting from a classified to a level plan of insurance, citing rising death losses and burdens on members over age 56 who number about 1 400, with potential annual costs over 8101 000. The session also amended the Oregon divorce provision to deny divorced wives beneficiary status and outline benefit continuation if a designated beneficiary is dead.
