Jon McIntyre died Tuesday morning on the train near Wallula while being driven home from Salem. Cancer of the stomach caused the death after a journey deemed survivable by Hugh McIntyre, the brother, who was transporting him to Athena. The body arrived in Athena Tuesday night and the funeral was held at the home of Mrs. A. M. Johnson. McIntyre, born in Argyle Scotland, was 64 and had lived in the area about 13 years since moving from Michigan. He was survived by a brother and several nephews.
