Mrs Jobe W Keen a renowned Athena area woman died suddenly at her west Athene home of heart failure after a quiet morning. Born September 18 1852 in Johnson County Arkansas she wed John W Keen January 22 1872 and came to Gerking Flat two years later. Survived by her husband six children and other relatives funeral services were held yesterday at the home with burial in Athena Cemetery.

Indians to perform Hiawatha at National Educational meet
