Pioneer of the Year 1861 John Fletcher Visits Town
John Fletcher an 1861 pioneer now in the Big Bend near Waterville visits with Mrs Fletcher and old friends from Houston. He crossed the plains with parents in 1861, is 70, veteran of the Indian war, once with Captain Kelly’s Washington era Volunteers. He helped found Weston, later owned 1400 acres near Big Bend now valued at $5,000 per acre with railroads. He traveled to Seattle last spring to visit sons in business. The couple have six children and three continue to pride. Call Charles Coomans for settlement.
