Death of Asa Le Grow Pioneer Sheepman Passes Away in Portland
Asa Le Grow, a renowned sheepman and Oregon pioneer, died Tuesday night in Portland at the Portland Hotel of heart failure. He was over 70, lived in Oregon and California since 1849, came to Umatilla county in 1870, then Walla Walla for the rest of his life. Funeral held in Walla Walla beside his wife. Surviving children include Mrs. Robert Walsh and Mrs. Wynne. Le Grow once cashier of the First National Bank of Athena and accumulated a large fortune.
