McBride Livery Team Recovered After North Yakima Theft

Harry McBride of the McBride & Co. Livery returns from North Yakima with his team and buggy stolen Monday by a man posing as a harvest hand. A farmer named McDonald tipped off authorities Tuesday evening, leading to a chase via North Yakima and Yakima enterprises. The thief escaped Friday after selling the horses for 200 dollars. The rig's travel wore the animals, who had endured a two day trip.

Weston and Ashland school additions blocked by AG opinion

Attorney General rules that additions to Weston and Ashland normal school plants cannot be classed as repairs and thus are not funded in the appropriation. A 20 room girls dormitory addition at Weston, urged by the visiting committee, must be deferred. Interior remodeling to improve fall accommodations will proceed as needed to handle expected student surge.

L Bott aged 16, son of J K Bott of Helix, died at his home Saturday evening from complications after an appendicitis operation. He was buried in Helix on Monday.

Rev M W Howard pastor of the M E church south at Milton was suddenly stricken with paralysis during a Sunday sermon. He died Tuesday evening.
