Roy C. Markee longtime Portland fan and former band leader in France died in Pullman from appendicitis. His wife Lucile Kemp, born in Athens, and their infant daughter mourn his loss. He recently returned from service in Fevnow and had planned to move his family to Portland where he led the Portland Blin band before enlistment. The body was taken to Portland for burial.

Harrie a well known Weston figure for years died Sunday at College Place Sanitorium at age 71. He had been in declining health, recently seeking treatment and passed after moving from California years ago. Born in Michouel he left one son and wife L B Wilmot of Hingham Montana. Interment in Weston cemetery with funeral rites by Rev Powell of Weston Methodist Church.
