Witty Observations on Manners and Romance in Short Prose

A humorous mosaic notes how grave sadness and social missteps shape life. Quips about an Atchison man who talks too little, a too diplomatic neighbor, and a fifty fifty balance in manners punctuate the piece. It sides with those who seek courage in love and sing of high seas.

Living wires and portraits of the times in a city column

A string of witty, bite sized observations on public figures, manners and current events. The piece riffs on language shifts and public life with sharp quips about Harry Sinclair Romeos and live wires, Mars six legs, and British embassy liquor bans. It closes with a humorous note on Mrs. Victoria Crouch’s Dodge City airplane ride at age 88.
