Atchison Becomes Hub For All Weather Road Network
Early this spring two highway projects in Atchison County will surface key links to make most state and federal roads in the area all weather. Contracts for surfacing U.S. 73 E and K-16 to the county line advance with state aid, linking Atchison to Troy and to nearby towns as work proceeds.

Robert Alexander Harman age 61, formerly of Effingham, died in Colorado Springs after an appendicitis operation. He moved to Colorado Springs five years ago for health reasons and later worked in real estate and insurance there. He leaves a widow and three sons and will be brought back to Effingham for burial. James Harman, Atchison barber, is his brother.

L G Daniels 70 prominent Bean Lake area farmer died at his home after a long life in Missouri farms. Born near Springfield October 21 1857 he moved to West Plain then near Bean Lake in 1887. Survived by two sons L E Daniels Rushville L O Daniels Colorado Springs three daughters Mrs E M Gordon Rushville Mrs Margaret Evans and Laura Daniels at home one sister Mrs Laura Garrett West Plain. Funeral arrangements pending.

Thomas Patrick Gleeson a 68 year old potter and prominent farmer of Potter died suddenly yesterday at 3 pm at his home. He was found in his barn and suspected heart attack. Survived by widow and three daughters Mary Aurelia. four sisters including Sister Loretta. Funeral at Brook Church at 2 pm with burial at the local cemetery.
