No Blame for 2 Deaths in Effingham Electrocution Case
A coroner jury in Effingham yesterday found no one responsible for the deaths of Dor Overbay of Omaha, 41, and Dorel Holmes of Horton, 24, who were electrocuted when they touched high tension wires on the Effingham Horton road. Witnesses described insecure pole bases and a broken line segment, with voltage at 6600 volts and bare conductors. The verdict noted only that both men died after contacting the wires north of Effingham, two to three miles away.
