Hadley Suffers Compound Leg Break at Train Crossing
George Hadley of two miles north of town broke his right leg in a compound fracture while trying to hold a frightened horse as a passing train neared. His wife and baby escaped unharmed, aided by bystanders and a quick response from Dr Grim and local residents. The injury will keep him in Dixon hospital for weeks. Also announced is the Queen Esther Circle Halloween supper on Saturday evening October 30 at the Methodist church.
