Chief William B. Farver detained two thieves Harvey Deitz and Max Kobler at Thome's grocery until Sheriff Frank A. Schoenholz arrived to place them in Lee county jail Dixon. The pair drove a Colorado registered Chevrolet with tires missing claimed stolen from Fred Kentz Motor Co Denver September 6. The stolen car found with felloes and a Denver bank check. Denver authorities were notified to transport suspects to Colorado.

Mrs. Joseph Williams died at 3622 Grant Boulevard Chicago after a long life tied to Ashton. Her funeral was held at the cemetery with Rev. William H.
