Miss Emma Catherine Krug, born October 29, 1888 in Reynolds township Illinois, died September 27 1919 in Bellingham Minnesota during a visit with family. Funeral services were held at the Ashton Presbyterian church with interment in Ashton cemetery. She was active in church work and education in Ashton, Illinois.

Philip Geyer born January 1 1874 in Reynolds township son of George and Marie Geyer married Hilda Petrie February 18 1904. He farmed in Bradford township Lee County Illinois then near Mason City Iowa and raised seven children before dying September 22 aged 45 8 months 21 days with burial in Ashton cemetery after services led by Rev B K Yeakel.

The church board met on Tuesday evening despite rain and elected officers for the coming year. William Lesslie is Secretary, B J Randall Financial Secretary, Glenn Rosecrans Treasurer, A F Gebant Centenary Treasurer. James Batchelor, retiring treasurer, served 14 years and was thanked for his careful finances. Next Sunday begins the new year as reports for conference are prepared for the Chicago St James meeting. The church invites Dr Kern to return for another year.

Death of Bert Anderson in Rochelle area
Bert Anderson formerly of Ashton and later Dixon died in his sister near Malta. An inquest by Coroner H G Wright found death from apoplexy. Survived by wife three daughters Maude Dorothy Helen and a deceased son. Funeral held at Rochelle Methodist Church with burial in Rochelle cemetery. He belonged to Willow Camp No 44 Modern Woodmen of America.
