Many Trains Change Time on Chicago and North Western

A new timetable takes effect at the Chicago and Northwestern station altering departure times for several east and westbound passenger trains. Eastbound Nos. 18 and 14 depart earlier while Nos. 20 and 12 shift later. westbound Nos. 3 13 11 17 1 and 25 adjust times as listed. The rest remain the same. Mrs N S True visits Dixon after several weeks at Benton Drummonds.

Death suit filed over Dr Ralph Pierce death at Lee County crossing

Dr E M Sheldon administrator for Ralph M Pierce estate filed in Lee County Circuit Court against Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for 10000 dollars. Pierce was struck by a train on Fourth street crossing September 20 and died three hours later. Case slated for January term. Also notes organ opening at Presbyterian church in Franklin Grove with Prof Stoddard on Dixon.

Farm sale nets large profit as Dysart crowd attends

George Risenberg and family held a Saturday sale at Dysart drawing many buyers. The sale totaled slightly over $3,000. Ten years ago the family moved to Dysart and plan to move to Ashton next spring. He had bought 160 acres near Dysart for $70 an acre, then sold last August to H P Jensen at $125 an acre, yielding an $8,800 gain. Including sale proceeds, he claims about $11,800 in net velvet with more to come.
