Highway Superintendent Refuses Petition to Narrow Road
The county highway superintendent L B Neighbour refused a petition to reduce the Ashton township road width from 66 to 40 feet after a Saturday hearing at Sanders Schoolhouse. He cited traffic growth, need for ditching and earth for grades, potential loss to landowners, local and state opposition, and Attorney General guidance that a width reduction must apply to the entire township. An eleven pound son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Krug Sunday.
