M. J. Hazeltine longtime Union Central Life Insurance Co agent with offices in Polo and Dixon died at his Polo home Monday at 8 45 pm from old age related infirmities. Born March 8 1826 in Vermont he is survived by two daughters and four grandchildren. He sang two hymns shortly before death. Funeral services were held yesterday at 2 30 pm conducted by Rev. R B Peery. He belonged to Dixon Masonic orders.

The rural graduation exercises in the high school auditorium drew the city’s largest crowd yet, as 22 seniors graduated. John H. Byers of Dixon delivered the address alongside County Superintendent L. W. Miller who presented diplomas. Miss Alice Gehant gave a reading, with music from Mrs. F. J. Aiken and Mrs. John D. Charters performing two instrumental numbers and two solos.

Boys Returning Home From France Touch Down In Camp
Two Ashton brothers William Haenitsch and Floyd Davison have landed in the United States from France and reached a camp in New Jersey. The 33rd Division, now at the Atlantic, is expected to bring more Ashton men home soon as they return from Brest. Included in the division are Henry Stephan Forrest Paddock Sanford Hutchinson and Paul D Hurd who served in the army of occupation and avoided long transport waits on arrival.
