A bold morning heist at Sandrock's Jewelry Store in Ashton netted watches diamonds rings and more with over $1 000 worth stolen. Former resident Esther Brownell dead at ninety
Mrs. Esther Brownell died Sunday at 2:30 AM at her daughter Maria’s home in Rogers Park. She was 90, mother of North Western conductor Frank Brownell, and part of Ashton’s pioneering Brownell family who built the old house razed for G A Hamel’s bungalow. Funeral was held in Chicago Tuesday at 2 PM. burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
