A Young Life Called Home AUGHTED IN ILLINOIS DEATH

Death in Ashton Illinois follows an August 1906 paramedic operation for appendicitis. Alice Emma Kersten born December 31 1891 Bradford Lee County Illinois died March 1 1906 at age fourteen years two months eighteen days. Funeral in Ashton led by Rev Schuster and Rev Frey. W C Krug notes ex governor Richard Yates will speak March 12 at Dixon Opera House.

Sold the Barber Shop by G W Krug to Grover Sanders

Thursday G W Krug sold his barber shop to Grover Sanders who immediately took possession. George and Adam Krug will work for him for a while. Mr Krug has conducted a successful business for years but has not yet decided future business relations.

Fire at G H Brewers Basement Fire Quickly Doused

Fire alarm sounded around five oclock Thursday as a blaze broke out in the basement of G H Brewers home. The fire company arrived in muddy conditions and extinguished the fire before arrival. Also noted are Catholic services with confession Saturday and mass Sunday by Father Finn. A fire company meeting is planned for Tuesday evening March 13 to address necessary business. C F Krug traveled to Dixon on business Thursday.

Land for sale in Dakota and Illinois counties ad

South Dakota and Iowa land for sale over 10 000 acres in Beadle Hand and Hyde counties with rich soil and crops from 10 per acre. Also a 200 acre Kane County Illinois farm with heavy black soil good improvements and easy payments priced at 85 per acre. Burglars entered Cornelius Sanders home but fled without taking goods. Citizens Begin Spring Moves Across Town

A week of residence changes as residents relocate within the town. Desmond moves into the Methodist church area south house recently vacated by Bassler, and others including Jener Van Ness, Theodore McCade, Farver and Griffith, Roesler, Stover, Sheldon, and Pate swap homes or move to new properties near the track and town center.

Taxes Coming Slow In Ashton Township Tax Levy

About one half of the 15819 60 to be collected has been paid with around 8000 00 received by the first night. A final few days remain for tax payments and book openings. Rev William A Schutte of Freeport will lecture here and lead the fourth Quarterly meeting March 9 to 11 with a free will offering to defray expenses. Weather may shift the lecture to the following evening if needed. KE Wiener.

Presbyterians Plan to Expand Church Auditorium

Since Rev. J. E. Stevens became pastor attendance has grown and Sundays see full seating. Ladies of the church start a fund to enlarge the building, aiming to add a room east of the church for Sunday school and meetings. Funds will be raised with each lady contributing a dollar. Folding doors would connect the new room to the main auditorium to ease crowding and save on lighting and heating costs.

Married Last Night At 7 30 In Chicago Home

Miss Clara S Frey of Chicago wed Mr Buhrke at 7 30 last night at the home of the bride’s parents Rev and Mrs C J Frey 355 North Hoyne avenue. They will reside at 209 Cortez St and the couple thanked neighbors and the fire department for quick response to a blaze that threatened their home with a brave local act by a passerby helping to call the alarm and control the fire with buckets of water.
