Durkes Franklin Grove Banker Dies After Illness
Stelzer A. Durkes longtime cashier of The Franklin Grove Bank dies at home in Franklin Grove after months of illness. He was born January 9 1873 and educated in Franklin Grove later joining the bank in 1905. Surviving are six children and two brothers with funeral services held at his home and at the Methodist Episcopal church followed by burial in Franklin Grove cemetery.

Pioneer of Ogle County Clarice Hardesty Dies at 82
Clarice Cecelia Palmer Hardesty born April 9 1840 in Washington County Maryland died June 18 1922 at her daughter Mrs Dean Drummond near Chana aged 82 years two months and four days. She married William Hardesty June 29 1856 and had four children. She was early Ogle County pioneer who attended Lafayette Grove first public school and spent two years at Mt Morris College. Survived by three children ten grandchildren twelve great grandchildren two sisters and many relatives. Funeral at Washington Grove Christian church with interment at Washington Grove cemetery.
