George H Luckey Dies After Long Illness In Ashton

George H Luckey, born December 27, 1855 in Elmore Ohio, died January 9 1906 at his Ashton area home from sciatica rheumatism and weakened heart. Funeral at 10:00 a.m. from his home and 10:30 at M E Church, burial at Light House Cemetery. survived by two children Clifford and Elton and wife Margaret with infant George Robert, plus siblings and in laws across Ohio and California.

Ashton Birds Win Honors at Rochelle Poultry Show

At Rochelle, M. H. Randall topped the event with the sweepstakes prize for the highest scoring pen and collected multiple firsts including 1st cock, 1st and 3rd cockerel, 1st pullet and pen honors. Exhibitors E. J. Randall Albert Chambers W. D. Quick and others from Ashton earned numerous premiums across Wyandottes Orphingtons and Barred Rocks as 600 birds were on display and local attendance was noted.
