New Stamps Introduced for Parcels Post Denominations

Postmaster Chadwick unveils a full parcels post stamp range up to 25 cents in red with various duties listed for clerks, carriers, and services. Green postage stamps cover 1, 2, 5, 10 and 25 cents, with engraved designs and bold denomination figures. The change may alter railway mail service as parcels post expands and extra help and cars are added to trains.

Epworth League to Present Musical at Local Church

Epworth League members organize a musical entertainment next Monday evening in the Methodist Episcopal church. An excellent program is planned and an admission fee of twenty cents will be charged. Tickets available from any League member.

Stores to close evenings for annual merchant custom

Farmers and townsfolk recall the longstanding practice of stores closing at 7 pm on most weekdays during January February and March with Saturdays exempt. Half Century of Service for Northwestern Engineer Dan Tuttle

Dan Tuttle, long serving Northwestern Railway engineer and successor to retired Larry Gagin, will retire on January 1 with a substantial pension. Tuttle’s nearly fifty years of service mark a storied career as Sterling passenger chief among the system’s trusted locomotive crews.
