Brushed Aside by Death Welcome to Ashton Bride
Fred Kliebe and Harry Bowers escaped a fatal collision when their buggy was struck by a fast freight train at the Douglas avenue crossing. The buggy wrecked but both men were uninjured as the engineer stopped the train promptly after the impact. The incident followed the Sterling passenger’s departure and a blinded view due to the siding train's electric light.

Mrs. John Voss died Tuesday at her home on the Charles Trainer farm north of town. The funeral will be held Christmas afternoon at two o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. G. Mack officiating. Obituary to follow next week.

Knapp and Smith Buy Ashton Sheep Yards in MN Real Estate Move
Nathan Sanders sells Ashton Sheep Yards of 289 acres to a Minnesota firm in exchange for 480 acres near George Minnesota. Willard Knapp and Conrad Smith acquire the business and plan to continue operations, bringing sheep feeding expertise to Ashton. Dr J E Carlson of La Salle to fit glasses in town on December 29. H M Kersten visited Roschelle yesterday.
