Illinois Rail Fatality Claims Local Worker Jesse Chamberlain
Jesse Chamberlain, 22, son of Robert Chamberlain of Rochelle, was killed near the Nachusa depot when struck by passenger train No 15 while signaling for rails at the interlocking. He had moved from DeKalb a week earlier with his wife to a Petrie apartment suite. Coroner’s inquest held. funeral and burial planned in DeKalb. He is survived by four sisters and his father.

Popular Young Folk Wedding Unites Blanche Johnson and Clarence Paddock

Joseph W Gooch former Ashton resident and Palmyra township farmer died Tuesday night at age sixty one from a stroke while helping with farm chores He was born in Ashton November 4 1861 and married Adelaide Crombie in 1896 They leave a daughter Lenora a wife and siblings Funeral services were held Friday at 1 30 pm from the family home led by Rev Jesse Tidball of the Dixon Presbyterian church He was a member of Ashton Lodge 531 A F and A M and Elk Lodge 1218 Sterling
