Miss Mary Kurth eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Cris Kurth married Oliver Finnestad of Creston Monday at 2 30 in the parsonage. Rev Gustav Mack officiated. The couple, attended by Alice Finnestad and Fred Kurth, plan to visit Rockford before settling on a farm six miles north of Creston after March first.

January Grand Jury Chosen in Lee County
At the December meeting of the Lee County Board of Supervisors the January term grand jury names were approved for multiple towns including Alto Santa Ashton Amboy Bradford Brooklyn China Dixon East Grove Hamilton Harmon Lee Center Marion Nahusa Nelson Palmyra Reynolds South Dixon Sublette Viola Willow Creek Wyoming. An Alms House report shows 30 inmates at Eldena county farm with 13 from Dixon and 7 from Amboy, totaling $7,605.98 in invoices and $50.50 cash on hand.

Pioneer Settler Martha Krug Called By Death
Martha Krug nee Rice, aged 70 years 1 month 29 days, died Wednesday of cancer at her home southeast of the city. She was born October 14, 1845 in Reichen, Sachen, Kries, Esche wege, Germany, came to America in 1847, settled near Lee Center, and lived in Lee county 63 years. She married Conrad Krug March 18, 1859. eight daughters were born, two died. She joined United Evangelical church in Bradford township in 1859, and remained faithful in the city church. Survived by husband, brothers George Rice of Garrison, daughters Martha Mall Julia Hanneman Christina Schoenberg Elizabeth Krug Anna Nass Minnie Mall, five sons-in-law, two sons in Iowa, Jacob Rice of Bagley, 29 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral Sunday morning at United Evangelical Church conducted by Rev George A. Walter from Numbers 23:10.

Church Property Transferred To Rockford Free Methodist
A real estate transfer moved the Ashton Free Methodist church property and parsonage to the Rockford Free Methodist church society. Trustees Solomon Sunday Walter Sunday George Krieg George Wynans and J M Woodward executed the transfer after a salt to quiet title decree by Judge Farrand. The instrument was drawn November 7 but filed recently.
