Train wreck demolishes eleven cars near Dixon
A freight train wreck three miles west of Dixon at 1:50 am injures Conductor Morris Brakeman Rogan and Fireman Nelson of the same crew who earlier lost a brakeman Roy Spiller. The westbound train struck the way car from the rear at Locust cut No 119 demolishing ten freight cars and engine No 1394.

Rail yard rush ties up several bound trains
Bound passenger No 3 was tied up in the Dixon yards. Hast bound trains No 16 18 and 4 were tied up at Sterling. No 15 the west bound paper train was sent around via Freeport and Savanna to Fulton delaying the early morning mail and papers arriving in Ashton until noon with No 20 from Fulton arriving about half an hour late.

DIES FROM PARALYTIC STROKE
Daniel Boyle died early Tuesday at his home five miles northeast of town in Ogle County after a paralysis stroke. He was about seventy five and one of the county’s oldest settlers, survived by his wife. Funeral was held at his home then at Washington Grove Christian Church with interment in Washington Grove Cemetery. Boyle was a prominent farmer and respected in local affairs.

Made long trip from Dixon to Franklin Grove
Mr and Mrs Frank Messer and relatives of Mrs W D from this city walked to Dixon last week Wednesday. They left Dixon around 9 30 am and reached Ashton by 2 pm after stops, the last leg being muddy. Mr Messer suffers pain and his doctor advised walking for health.

Paralytic Stroke Strikes Local Leader Jus Yorty
Jus Yorty of the old homestead near the city suffered a paralytic stroke Sunday and remains in critical condition. He is known in the area and has lived with his brothers since the Civil War, a veteran editor, William R. Parker of Rock Falls, died suddenly Sunday at his home after illness. Parker, former editor of the Rock Falls News, had served as a Republican leader and was active in A. R. circles.
