November 1911 Coldest in Twenty Years Record

Mabel Bunzey Seeks Divorce in Whiteside County
Mrs. Mabel Bunzey of Whiteside county files a divorce suit in the January term of the circuit court against Arthur Bunzey. She claims she was married at Dixon on April 4, 1896 and deserted in 1907 without support. She seeks child custody and notes Bunzey's past as a Northwestern telegraph operator and elopement with Mrs. H. K. Blush in 1907.

Freight Engine Explosion Near Rochelle Injures Crew
An eastbound freight engine No. 132 exploded three miles east of Rochelle at 3:30 a m last week. Engineer James Mills was thrown across the westbound track, unconscious with internal injuries and facial burns. Fireman Dyer sustained only minor injuries. Mills later regained consciousness, eye injuries feared. The derailed train was guided into Creston yards with both men hospitalized.

Wetzel Resigns From City Council After Forgetting Meetings
