The Ashton public school will open Monday September 4 with cleaning finished and order ready. New high school teachers Miss Hobart of Roscoe and Miss Brunsvold of Beloit arrive to join staff along with existing teachers under Superintendent O A Fackler. A large local and country pupil turnout is expected for the term. Elbert Hiram, seven day old son of Mr and Mrs Faust H Boyd, died Tuesday morning. funeral held at home and burial in Ashton cemetery with family’s sympathy noted. E E Rehr travels to Rock Island for a brakeman job on the Rock Island line. Rev E W Kuethe and wife and Miss Freida Kuethe visit the Schnell family in Ashton.
