Chicago Man Shot Self While Visiting Family Inquest Held

John Osinger of Chicago died after an accidental gun discharge on a Piser farm near Amboy. The coroner’s inquest found he came to death by the accidental discharge of a shotgun in his own hands. He was twenty seven and born in Poland.

Unnamed Husband Dies After Sudden Family Tragedy

The deceased, united in marriage to Miss Bessie Garretty, left behind three children a five year old son a three year old daughter and a ten month old baby. He lived at 3111 South Halsted Chicago and worked as an electrotyper for Poole Bros railroad printers. The family traveled to Chicago on No 14 for a pleasure trip that ended in tragedy.

Mrs Walker Issues Notice To Desist Trespassing In Ashton

Emily J. Walker warns the Village of Ashton to desist trespassing on her land after removing a section of a sidewalk for a cement replacement. Sheriff Tourtillott delivered the notice to Mayor McWethy. The mayor and marshal discussed the matter with limited details and potential arrest for noncompliance.

Camp Meeting Opens With Big Ashton Attendance

Camp meeting at Franklin Grove begins tonight with large expected turnout as Ashton plans a sizable outside delegation. Annual teachers institute in Amboy August 19 23 07

The Lee County notice invites educators to the Amboy gathering August 19 to 23 1907. A rich program is promised with experienced instructors and sessions designed to engage every county teacher from enrollment Monday morning through closing.

Institute To Be Held For Teachers In Dixon

The notice calls a teacher institute at a Dixon house on the 24th. The program includes courses of study, registers, reports, certificates, songs, and examination branches. The exam runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those who wish to participate should prepare between now and then.

No Prisoners In County Jail Lifts Amboy Case

William Lupton, the last prisoner in Lee county jail, posted $200 bonds to appear before the September grand jury. He was arrested for breaking into Mr Briggs store in Amboy two months ago and was held in Dixon before bonds were signed in the presence of Wm. L. Leech and Mark C. Keller. He returned home to Amboy after release.

Y P A Meeting Names New Members and Delegates

The Renolds Y P A held its August meeting on Tuesday August 6 electing two new members. Delegates were chosen to attend the State convention in Freeport from August 29 to September 1 including Rose Hewert Katie Klenke Mabell Wiener and Rose Wagner. August 18's leader is Justus Henert with Mrs Justus Henert as song leader reader Benj ae and organist Ella Vaupel.
