Funeral of Mrs Billmire held this afternoon at 1 30 at the late home in Ashton with Eastern Star in charge. Peter Eisenberg dies at 82 in Bradford township after a long life of farming and faith at his Ashton home. services today at United Evangelical church.
Charles Goetzenberger a Franklin Grove business leader died Sunday at three following a four week bout with typhoid fever. Born November 25, 1880 in Dixon he operated a bakery in Franklin Grove and leaves wife Matilda and their son Frank, plus his parents and sister. Funeral was private Tuesday with Rev. MacWherter and Rev. English officiating. The town mourns his loss.
Samuel Whitlock of Ladora visits old friend A W Rosecrans recalling school board days. Funeral attendees for Peter Eisenberg include Henry Eisenberg and family from DeKalb Amboy and Lee Center. Mr and Mrs Chester Lee ride from Kentucky for a visit as he takes a job in Hopkinton. she stays until a house is found. George Stephan’s automobile accident leaves no injuries but damages. Ashton faces gas famine due to delayed shipments. two 1100 gallon gasoline deliveries ease the shortage.
Illinois adopts a new fish and game law making fishing free for residents, ends the hand line fishing ban, lowers commercial fish size, and extends hunting seasons. It lengthens prairie chicken season by ten days and shifts squirrel and mourning dove dates, while failing to raise daily duck limits.
A catalog of collective nouns lists crowd terms from fleets to corps and horde. Then a Iowa real estate ad promotes a 862 acre stock and grain farm near Des Moines at 125 per acre with two buildings two silos wind mills and 85 acres timber and urges fast reply. Services begin Friday 8 p.m. Bradford, Saturday 2 p.m. Ashton German sermon followed by Quarterly Conference, communion at Ashton 10:30 a.m. and Bradford 2:30 p.m., with another sermon at Ashton 7:30 p.m. All invited.
