Hartzell Dies After Illness At 35 In Rochelle
Hale Durance Hartzell born July 9 1887 in Nachusa township died July 25 1922 at Lincoln Hospital Rochelle from peritonitis after appendectomy at age 35. He married Ruby March February 12 1908 and was a Presbyterian on the Franklin Grove farm of 8 A Durkes. He leaves wife parents sister Mrs H G Roger Oak Park brother Collin Mt Morris and many relatives. Funeral at Franklin Grove Presbyterian Church Rev M T MacPherson assisted by Rev O D Buck. Interment Emmett Cemetery west of Franklin Grove. Poem Just Away by James Whitcomb Riley accompanies the notice.

Former resident 15 dead in burial service
The remains of Ada Dutcher Palmer were brought to the city Saturday for burial. Rev. Frank Brandfellner conducted a short service at the cemetery. Ada Dutcher Palmer, born December 26 1893 near Ashton, married George Palmer on August 4 1909 and left three children Lillian Ida George C and John D. She was the youngest daughter of Peter and Mina Dutcher. Her mother and a brother preceded her in death. She leaves two sisters Mrs Bessie Maxwell of Chicago and Mrs Ida Etes of Byron and many relatives.

The Ogle County Fair will run August 8 to 11 in Oregon with hundreds of feet of concession space sold and large show cattle hogs and sheep entered. Harness races carry added money and no deductions with stake purses of 400 on Thursday and Friday and 300 in several class races plus a Pony Race on Wednesday. Vaudeville and circus acts are planned along with racing excitement and entry lists expected soon.

Dixon Carnival Murders Tied to Moonshine Trouble
Two brutal killings at the Dixon carnival grounds last week tied to moonshine alcohol. Frank Rinks, 22, an electrician with the Heth carnival, died after a drunken quarrel. Herbert Long, son of Harmon County Supervisor Long, was shot by Leonard Woodyatt. Woodyatt, a night watchman for Illinois Central, was jailed and held without bail as the coroner’s jury found him responsible. Officials note Dixon city limits have long barred carnivals, though local amusement owners pressed to bring them near town.
