Mrs Elizabeth Pollock born Elizabeth Carnahan in 1838 in Pennsylvania died at her daughter s home in Franklin Grove Illinois . She settled in Lee County in 1838 and lived near Forreston and Ashton . She was married to Thomas Caldwell Pollock in 1861 and survived by three children and three brothers . Funeral services were held in Ashton and Franklin Grove with interment in Ashton Cemetery . Quiet School Election in District 82 Yields 43 Votes

Koontz Sentenced to the Pen for Forgery
William Koontz a 21 year old was indicted on forgery and sent to the state penitentiary at Joliet. He forged two checks one on a Dixon firm and the Am boy Grocery company. The court had cleared its docket with pleas of guilty by other defendants including Charles Marvin and Arthur Benton both given ninety day county jail terms.
