A light Primary vote occurred in Lee County on a rainy day with muddy country roads. Four candidates contested the Sheriff's race while the County Treasurer race drew broad attention, Elliott C. Risley of Compton leading with 4370 votes. Fred A. Richardson carried Ashton and multiple precincts, while Charles Wastman and Mahlon Kent also received notable tallies.
