Mrs. Lewis Wood 66 died after months of illness at her Dixon home and is survived by husband and three children. Nancy Adaline Drummond died at 1724 West Third Street after a long illness, leaving husband Leon and three sons. Margaret Weigle Emmert of Nachusa died after surgery, age 41, with funeral in the Brethren church. Also a note on family adage about wives waists and buttons. Castor oil ad from Smith’s Pharmacy.

Franklin Grove Pioneer William T Pearl Dead at 92
William Taylor Pearl longtime Franklin Grove resident and insurance agent died at his home Thursday night after a two year illness. Born April 25 1885 in Porter Maine he moved to Illinois in 1856 and to Franklin Grove in 1864. He was married to Sarah E Keyes and had two daughters Gertie and Grace. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 PM conducted by Rev Clarence Lahman with burial in Franklin Grove Cemetery.

The Queen Esther circle met Monday evening at Nellie and Ruth Zeller home with 27 members present. Four new members were welcomed, business completed, and after entertainment plans were laid for the annual May Party on May 2 at the opera house with inviting gentlemen friends. Refreshments included Waldorf salad deviled eggs sandwiches pineapple leaf cocoa and cake.

Work on the new school house began Tuesday morning with scraper teams excavating the basement. F R Hoar of Iowa Falls aided surveying and grading while a stone crusher started Saturday, but more stone may be needed for concrete work. Rain delayed progress. about fifteen men are employed and expect rapid work in good weather.
