Rev A W Strickfaden, long serving United Evangelical pastor in Chicago, retires after 43 years of ministry. Serving 1895 to 1898 in his early years, he led North Ashland Avenue church for three years, never missed more than SI Sundays, and earned about 600 dollars annually while supporting a family of four and church benevolence. He remains one of Illinois conference’s oldest members and the last of his divinity school class.
