A historic tale of Robert Jeffery a privateer crew member cast ashore on Sombrero after a brutal abandonment by a captain. Public outrage followed court martial and a later revival of Jeffery as a symbol against press ganging inspiring reports from Liverpool to Marblehead. He later lectured toured and settled in Cornwall, dying early of consumption leaving a troubled family.
