Creditors and stockholders representing at least two thirds agree to a plan to reorganize the A. and P. R. R. Co. under Ohio law. It includes selling franchise under first mortgage, issuing new stock and bonds, transferring property to a reorganized company, and limiting liabilities. Key parties include John N. Hutchinson, Wm. Spackman, J. N. DuBerry, and Wm. Mullins. preferred stock capped at six percent dividend. Penn Co. to lease the line under favorable terms. May 16 1878 date.
County news item recounts local happenings from Kingsville with remarks on a procession in the park. Mrs W H Stewart suffered a dislocated shoulder and injuries after being trampled by a horse during the event. The Glen Club provided singing before a procession to Austin Cemetery where 36 flags with crepe streamers commemorated fallen soldiers as local youth wreathed graves. A separate incident at the lakeshore left a beach bank damaged by a large wave around 4 o clock Tuesday afternoon.
