Man Killed On A P & Y Line Dead on Crab Creek Track

The Herald Youngstown correspondent reports a man named David McDonald found dead on the track above Crab Creek on the Ashtabula Youngstown Pittsburg Railroad. He was about thirty, a coal miner by trade, recently laid off, and had been drinking after payday with a brother before vanishing near the railway. An inquest concluded the death resulted from a locomotive collision while he walked the track toward Strathers from the city.

Temperance Union Convention Called in February 1578

Friends of temperance with sobriety are urged to attend a convention to organize Gouary Curis Temperance Union and Ulery to the State Christian Temperance Union.
