MECHANTS AND DRUGGISTS IN A MID CENTURY LISTING

A dense OCR page fragment lists merchants and druggists, with many names, places, and products. It references wholesalers, manufacturers, rail connections, and medical remedies, interspersed with unrelated ad-like notes and stray lines. The readable items hint at a catalog of traders and items common to a period newspaper page.

It shifts to a long, didactic section describing opium cultivation, processing, and global use, followed by assorted household tips and wartime anecdotes including General Gordon’s humane act toward a wounded comrade and a Civil War era cooking guidance.
