New U S Marshal Active in Liquor Offender Roundup
Frank O Connor the new United States Marshal based in Wausau toured the area this week gathering liquor offenders. About forty five were seized and sent to Superior for Federal Court in the Western District. O Connor, a Democrat, assumed duties in August succeeding R Flint and reappointed deputies Lamont Appleby and Pugh with Appleby in Madison and Pugh in Superior Wisconsin.

Hunting Accident at Odanah Injures John Kralovec
John Kralovec of Odanah was accidentally shot while hunting yesterday. A full charge of fine shot entered his arm and leg but a heavy mackinaw prevented lung injury. he was taken home and placed under a physician's care.

Claude Gordon of this city, son of Mr and Mrs Edward Gordon, leaves for Washington to take a stenographer position in the War Department. He previously served as stenographer in the Indian Agents office with an 80.63 overall average and 90 percent in stenography and typewriting. Gordon learned the trade at his father’s business college, famed for turning out skilled graduates. The promotion had long been considered by his father.

Dredge to Start on New Ore Dock Near Ashland
The Chicago and Northwestern plans to begin preliminary work on a new 1.5 million dollar ore dock beside the present docks. Dredging will start at the site and hundreds of men are expected to be employed all winter.
