Wellington bets on Mackenzie fate as session opens

A Wellington correspondent notes that if two Liberal MPs who kept the government in power last February have changed minds the Mackenzie Ministry may soon fall after Parliament opens. The session promises high public interest with possible splits among Liberals and a shift toward Moderates in a looming fight against Labour and Radicalism. The return of T M Wilford raises the ministry's tally to forty one to thirty eight, while several ex-ministers are rumored to be indifferent, suggesting an imminent government change. The ex-Prime Minister’s presence in opposition adds a new dynamic to the coming weeks.
