Moynan’s Secret Bass Haul Stuns Asbury Beach Crowd
Moynan has caught about twenty bass since the month began and landed two large fish Monday evening. He and Charles Hurley fished near Deal when Moynan seized a 20 pound striped bass and Hurley a 22 pound catch. Reports say bass are abundant this season with shallow-water bites along the Jersey coast.

Dangerous Rock Sinks Steamboat Albertina on River Run
The steamboat Albertina struck a jagged rock at Rocky Point on a Red Bank to New York run and sank in four feet of water. Captain Charles Throckmorton ordered pumps and beaching to save the craft. repairs cost little beyond loss of service. The rock lies two feet above river bottom about fifty feet east of Lower Rocky Point buoy. Albertina owned by Merchants' Steamboat Company. Captain J S Throckmorton is a major stockholder.

Sea Lion Jubilee Arrives For Asbury Park Celebration
A famous sea lion from the Smithsonian arrived in Avebury Park on Tuesday aboard the 5 409 train from Philadelphia. He was housed in a tight box then moved to a tank at the fish ing pier where he splashed happily. The event featured a local band led by Murphy of the Bradley Beach Drum Corps and a parade through Rail road Square to Cookman avenue. Jubilee the seal will reside at the Asbury Park menagerie for the Queen Victoria jubilee celebration.
