At J J Parker Co store customers can buy granulated sugar and other goods at low prices. Elegant mixed tea, coffee, mixed nuts and canned goods labeled with per pound or per can prices. Specials include 54c per lb sugar 35c per lb tea 25c per lb coffee and 49c for four cans of TOC items.
Banking and Insurance Commissioner Bettle presents the annual report to Governor Voorhees. Four associations were placed in receivership due to excessive salaries and real estate depreciation. Details cover 860 associations with 129,181 members holding 891,803 shares and total net assets of about 47.56 million.
Superintendent Andrae of the Willard Home in West Grove pleaded for funds to cover urgent charges. Rev. Dr Henry M Wharton, founder, replied that no funds were on hand. Andrae then paid the telegram charges from his own pocket.

Work to begin immediately to finish before next summer's heavy travel. Also, L E Watson of Ocean Grove gets 850 for extra road work at Holm del. A Long Branch electric car struck United States Express wagon at Fifth Ave and Main St, injuring driver George Bedell who was thrown from the wagon. he will be unable to work for days.
Ocean Grove club members met to discuss a proposed trip to Washington during Inauguration week. A four person committee will tally attendees and a further meeting is set for Saturday night. Dr George B Hervert Dental Surgeon operates at A P and O G bank building office hours 9 am to 6 pm.
New Jersey lawmakers reported busy in Washington with several moves. Howell urged postmaster appointment. Sewell backed a National Army Relief Society bill and opposed polygamy petitions. Johnston named consul in Palermo. Jersey City post office building project eyed at $500000. McDermott joined Merchant Marine and Fisheries panel. Doremus of Passaic gained relief bill. local river and harbor talks with Gardner.
Finance Committee in conference with Inspector Tindall considers reducing license fees for backmen from 10 to 7 dollars for a one horse vehicle and from 15 to 10 dollars for a double team. Exemptions and equitable adjustments discussed, with work continuing.
Mrs. Charles Reilley of Orange claims to have discovered a diphtheria remedy superior to anti-toxine and plans to publish the internal treatment under physician supervision. A former nurse since 1874 with New York hospital experience, she emphasizes early application and reports curing a family case and preventing spread, though she will not reveal the formula.

Vincent Califona 45 who runs a Newark avenue store and a Walnut street shop in Jersey City was arrested yesterday on a liquor selling without license charge. Detectives say candy drops contained rum and were sold to school children. Califona denied knowledge of the ingredients and posted bail for examination.
All Monmouth County polling districts plan elections Monday night to select members of the Republican Executive Committee. Asbury Park shifts from township to city representation with wards voting in Park Hall and Educational Hall for First and Second Ward Republicans respectively.
The Long Branch Fire Department elected chief and first and second assistants. Patrick McCarthy of West End Engine Company won second assistant chief by 34 votes. Jacob Petz became chief and Joseph A. Burns was named first assistant.
Several young ladies in Asbury Park organize a holiday effort to clothe and cheer poor families. Donated discarded garments will be repaired at 207 Third Avenue before distribution. The group seeks public support and contributions.
M. L. Ferria plans to build east and west bleachers at Central Hall to seat 40 spectators. They will be finished by the first game, a week from Saturday night. On December 19 the Oreos will meet the Alliance team of Harlem.
