Thomas T. Kinney former owner of the Newark Daily Advertiser and a leading Newark figure died yesterday after a year of poor health. He was 79, famed for a great library and art collection, and had sold the paper three years ago to Col. G. B. M. Harvey and A. D. Chandler. He was a prominent Jersey coast cottage owner with investments near Elberon.

The British steamer Margaret Jones that ran ashore on Maryland's coast a week ago was hauled off by the sea-going tug Spartan last Saturday. Asbury Park capital is represented in salvage of $20,000. The Spartan towed the steamer to the Delaware Breakwater and left her to take a fleet of barges east. Salvage amount will be set by the Philadelphia Board of Marine Underwriters.
The Neptune House on Second Avenue failed to meet a satisfactory bid this morning with A. Culver offering 5700 dollars. The executor deemed the bid too low and prevented the sale. A new auction is planned for next month.
