Wesley Lake carnival committee met in Association Hall Ocean Grove to perfect plans for next Thursday night. Freworks ordered from Charles Crowell with a large display funding. Barn Destroyed by Lightning at Summerfield Farm
Eastwood White's barn near Summerfield two miles west of town was struck by lightning about 4 PM Tuesday. White was on the roof repairing as the storm neared and escaped unharmed after the bolt hit. Horses were saved, but grain and straw crops were ruined along with a carriage house, wagons, and farm implements. White had no insurance.
