A fashion gala by Mr. Blackwell drew attendees who paid 12.50 per ticket to see an elegant display. The Fremont Newark Philharmonic Guild raised about 2000 for charity as Mrs E K Hardman won a Blackwell creation and Mrs George Houser received a birthday dress.
