Condemned killer Gary Gilmore returns to Utah prison
In Salt Lake City Gary Gilmore was cheered by inmates as he was moved from a hospital to Utah State Prison and placed in isolation. His fiancée Nicole Barrett, hospitalized after a suicide pact with Gilmore, regained consciousness but remains dazed. The Utah Board of Pardons holds a Dec 6 special session to decide if his death sentence will stay or be commuted.
