A Soviet space scientist said cosmonauts will never set foot on Venus describing the planet as unfit for human life. He noted the USSR will target Mars and Jupiter after two Venus probes succeeded and sent data showing Venus is obscured by thick clouds.
Funeral services for Ola Cosby 54 who died yesterday at Washington Hospital in Fremont will be at Berge Pappas Mortuary 40842 Fremont Blvd Fremont at 2 pm Wednesday. A Texas native she lived in Fremont 29 years and worked at Weihel Vineyards 16 years. She resided at 41131 Maywood St Fremont and is survived by husband John three daughters three sons two sisters two brothers and 12 grandchildren. Bishop Fred Schouten will officiate with burial at Oakland Memorial Park.
President Nixon monitored the Apollo 10 launch from Camp David and watched naval firepower aboard the USS Saratoga off Virginia. He spent the night at Camp David with Hobart Lewis Reader’s Digest, John Davies, H. R. Haldeman, and their spouses, with King Timahoe the Irish setter joining.

A Fremont burglary at Patrick Mack 4729 Mowry Ave yielded a loss of 1630. Entry was forced through a patio door. the theft was found when Mack returned from vacation.
