Cab driver’s nightmare ends as charges dropped
The 40 year old cab driver, Mello, faced assault and armed robbery charges after a hijacking at a Hayward bar and a motel robbery. He denied intent, described being forced at gunpoint, and faced jail during the investigation before a lie detector test led prosecutors to drop charges. His wife Pat described ongoing fear from the ordeal.
