Union City Park Maint under Public Works Faces Review
Union City park upkeep remains under the Public Works department after a Tuesday night argument with park and recreation commissioners failing to win transfer of park maintenance staff to the park department. The council kept the five man park maintenance division under public works though a review is planned next year. Council discussed adding three equipment items, a chipper, lawn aerator and fertilizer spreader, which the public works chief had cut from the park department request. The proposed budgets for legal, city council and city manager were set near current levels, with a budget session planned to examine overall government expenses and police and fire budgets.
